About Your HRW Licence
Things you must be aware of about your forklift and order picker licence
You must notify the regulator (Workplace Health & Safety Queensland) of any changes to your personal details (i.e. residential address, contact details etc) within 14 days. This can be done online at http://www.justice.qld.gov.au/ or by calling 1300 362 128. There are hefty fines in place if you do not do this.
Lost or stolen forklift/order picker licences
You must notify the regulator (WHSQ) as soon as reasonably practicable if your order picker or forklift licence is lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed. You must take the necessary steps to arrange for a replacement licence, current fee $39.00 Call 1300 362 128 or visit http://www.justice.qld.gov.au/
Ready for inspection
You are required to have your forklift and/or order picker licence available for inspection by a principal inspector of WHSQ at any time that you are operating a forklift/order picker.
You must be aware that your licence is renewable every 5 years and that you will need to apply for a renewal if you still wish to operate a forklift legally in QLD or anywhere in Australia. The renewal fee is $89.40 for the high risk work licence, irrespective of how many classes of work you have included on the licence.
If your licence has been expired for a certain period of time, you may be required to retrain by enrolling in a new order picker or forklift driving course. Forklift and order picker drivers training is available at our Gold Coast facility, or on your Gold Coast or Brisbane-based premises.
The regulator (WHSQ) may direct a licence holder to obtain a reassessment of the competency if the regulator reasonably believes that the licence holder may not be competent to carry out that work.
The regulator may suspend, cancel or refuse to issue or renew a licence if the licence holder refuses or fails to provide sufficient reasons in response to a written notice of intention to suspend, cancel or refuse to issue or renew an order picker or forklift licence.
You must not perform work under the conditions of your licence unless you believe you are competent to operate the plant. You must comply with any reasonable instructions given by your employer.
